Certified Certificates UK is a small family run concern offering a professional independant service incorporating the search and supply of government office issued certificates and official documents registered within England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and British Overseas

Certified Certificates UK undertake to search records based on the information you have provided. Please ensure that all requested information is completed accurately as we will not be held responsible for mistaken or false information supplied.

If we are unable to supply a Birth, Adoption, Marriage or Death certificate registered in England/Wales/British Overseas as per your supplied information, we will retain a search/admin fee of £10.00 for a standard application and £12.00 for an express application and refund the balance. If we are unable to supply a Birth, Adoption, Marriage or Death certificate registered in Scotland/Ireland as per your supplied information, we will retain a search/admin fee of £15.00 and refund the balance.

When you order a Divorce Absolute requiring a search to locate the divorce entry, a maximum 10 year period search will be undertaken as per your supplied information. If there is no trace of the divorce, a refund will be issued for the postage amount paid in advance on your application. If you have ordered a Decree Absolute supplying an incorrect court reference number we will retain our search/admin fee of £20.00 and refund the balance.

When you order a Death certificate registered after the year 2006 we may have to provide the Registry with the following information:- 'Reason for certificate request' and 'Relationship to certificate subject'. By completing your application you agree to us forwarding this information to the necessary authorities.

When you order a Will/Probate, up to a four year search will be undertaken for a grant in the estate of the deceased as per your supplied information. If there is no trace, we will retain our search/admin fee of £13.00 and refund the balance. Please note that this refund does not apply when the application has been kept on file for a further six month search period.

When you order a Birth, Marriage or Death record search, we will undertake as per your supplied information/application and email our findings. No refund will be issued if there are no exact matches.


Certified Certificates UK will contact you via email or telephone if we have any questions relating to your submitted order. We reserve the right to refuse any application which we believe to be fraudulent or illegal and the monies will be refunded to the account from which they were debited. The delivery address entered on the application must match the credit/debit card billing address from where the payment was made. Your Statutory rights are not affected by any of our Terms and Conditions.

Payment is in advance via Credit/Debit card through the secure PayPal system. Our name of CERTSUK or CERTIFIEDCERTSUK will appear on your credit/debit card statement relating to your transaction. Due to the nature of our business we do not accept Echeque payments through PayPal as this payment method can take up to 15 business days to clear and would result in the delay of processing your order.

Postal applications are accepted with payment only by UK UNCROSSED Postal Order(s), made payable to CERTIFIED CERTIFICATES UK. Unfortunately due to high bank charges we no longer accept payments by cheque. Postal Order applications will be processed on the day we receive.

Our business days are defined as Monday-Friday, 09.30am – 17.00pm GMT with the exception of Bank Holidays. Certificate orders received after 3.00pm (15.00) GMT will be carried over and deemed received as per the next business day. Probated Will search orders received after 1pm (13.00) GMT will be carried over and deemed received as per the next business day. This is due to our researching times

Certified Certificates UK do not offer cancellation rights. Your contract with us is deemed to commence at the point of order, which is when the online payment is accepted by PayPal and received by our secure server. This is when our production service begins. Regulations 13(1a) Exceptions to the right to cancel, of the distance selling directive are deemed to apply from the point of order


Certified Certificates UK will not be liable to you for any loss or damage which may be suffered due to any cause beyond our reasonable control, including, but not limited to, flood, lightning or fire, Royal Mail/postal industrial action, acts of terrorism, governmental action or any other such event of which we have no control.


Certificates are delivered via Royal Mail signed for services and are handed directly to the Postmaster. We do not post through standing postboxes.

When using the Royal Mail Guaranteed next business day delivery option, please note that this service applies from the day the certificate is mailed by us and NOT when the order is placed online. Our experience especially recommends this delivery option, together with our Express service, if for example, you have ordered a certificate for an urgent passport application.

We endeavour to dispatch all certificates within the time stated on the application and whilst apx 98% of ordered documents timescales are adhered to, delivery times quoted do not form part of our contract. Delivery times are deemed to commence from the next business day following receipt of the order.

Whilst we do not hold any responsibility for non receipt or damage, in the unlikely event we will provide you with the mail tracking reference number via email, and assist you with any claim you should raise with Royal Mail. In the event of a loss (Royal Mail define this as non delivery or return to sender after 15 working days of postage date) we do not offer a refund but you are insured for a replacement certificate, including delivery, up to the Royal Mail compensation value of the postage service selected on your application. In the event of non delivery we have to be notified within 60 days of our posting notification email for a free replacement certificate to be issued, as Royal Mail have a time limit on compensation claims. Please visit www.royalmail.com if you require any further information regarding the compensation policy.

All certificates are mailed within an inner protective plastic cover to safeguard against wet weather conditions. We do not charge for this service. We provide purely because we believe your important document should arrive as clean as when it left us.

Our return address on the envelope does not show our full company name, therefore protecting your privacy and the contents.

In the event of a certificate being returned to us due to Royal Mail being unable to deliver the item because a) Item was refused, b) Item was not called for, c) addressee unknown, we reserve the right to recharge for the second delivery. We will notify you that the document has been returned to us and will send a separate invoice for the new postage costs. This amount will be as per your original postage option choice on your certificate application.


All certificates we supply are sourced from legal government offices or are court issued, complete with seal, accepted for passport, driving licence, state pension applications etc.

Birth certificates are the full, long version.


In accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, the information you have supplied (including details relating to the certificate subject) will only be used for the purpose stated and will not be retained by us once your order has been completed and delivered. Only details relating to the certificate production may be passed to certain Registry offices if requested by them (eg/ Relationship to certificate subject / Reason for certificate request) We do not sell your information to any third party.

We will only contact you via email or telephone regarding your current order, if the need arises.

Certified Certificates UK offer a personal service and because of the sensitive nature of our business, the outer return address on all documents mailed will not show our full company name. For added security reasons it is abbreviated.

Our website does not use cookies to store your personal information. Your browser will need to be configured to accept cookies from Paypal in order for you to make a payment via Paypal.


We are highly security conscious and our online payment process is though PayPal. When paying online you will be directed to the secure PayPal website. PayPal act as our payment service provider and are responsible for all credit/debit card processing. You do not have to open a PayPal account to use this service. We do not have access to the credit/debit card details you supply to PayPal during the payment process.

All our forms which collect personal data use SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) technology. This is an international standard method for securely exchanging sensitive information between a website and the client. The address of these pages begins with 'https' and your browser will display a padlock and/or green colour in the address bar. Your browser will automatically encrypt all information that you send to our website, before it leaves your computer. Encrypted information is unreadable en route. Once the information arrives at our secure server, it is decrypted using a secret key.


Certified Certificates UK retain the right to change prices without notice. Our website will be updated as and when they occur. We are not registered for VAT therefore do not add VAT to our prices. All costs are clearly shown throughout our site.
